How Time Flies!

How time flies! Here’s what we’ve been up to since the end of October...

For Christmas we flew to Phoenix and stayed at David’s sister and brother-in-law’s house and spent time with David’s parents and all of his siblings.

In mid-January we flew to New Mexico to visit Sheila’s parents and brother who were living down there during the winter months – and also to visit some extended family.

In March we enjoyed going to a Utah Jazz game with Sheila’s parents and brother.

We also went to a train show in Ogden. (David loves trains now, thanks to our neighbor's enthusiam for them.)

The first weekend in April, we went to Star Valley, Wyoming, to visit Sheila’s side of the family and for Easter, celebrating Sheila’s brother’s birthday, and snowmobiling to Granite Hot Spring (for swimming).

David got accepted to Weber State University last November (starting as a Junior) and just finished three online classes (while still working full-time) and is registered for three more classes for this summer.

This last weekend, all of David’s family was in town for David’s brother, Andrew’s missionary “non-farewell.” (We say “non-farewell” because missionary “farewells” were officially done away with by President Hinckley in October 2002 General Conference.)  It was great to have all of the siblings together in SLC again.

Here is a picture of the Hopes/Dukes after the family luncheon on Sunday...

I didn't know David was back in school. That's great!! What's his degree going to be in? Automotive??

His degree is in "Field Operations" (which is basically the white-collar/business side of automotive). That is the only degree that continues on to a Bachelors that counts his applied associates degree as the first 2 years, so it was that or starting totally over with college. So he decided to go on and get a Bachelors in Field Opperations and started as a Junior at Weber.
